Implant and Restorative
At Molar Bear Dental, we know the importance of a smile and the contributing impact that the presence of teeth has on general health and happiness of all individuals, young and old. As heartbreaking as it is, sometimes we need to call it a day and teeth have to be removed, which result in many consequences. For one, there is now a permanent gap in your mouth where food sometimes accumulates making it difficult to chew and eat. Opposing and adjacent teeth also move in an attempt to close the gap creating further gaps and food traps and an imbalance (anatomic and physiologic) in your bite which consequentially can cause joint pain and parafunction. The list goes on and on – but do not despair, your precious pearls can be replaced effectively and efficiently, in order to restore your smile both functionally and with aesthetic appeal, with various options available to you to suit your budget and expectations. Dentures
Also known as false teeth, are removable appliances which are used to replace teeth permanently, or as an interim measure while waiting for a fixed appliance to be planned and fabricated. There are 2 types available, made of either acrylic resin or a stronger more stable chrome version.
Bridges/Fixed Partial Dentures
These are appliances which replace missing teeth and close gaps but are not removable – utilizing teeth adjacent to the gap as anchors, they are cemented in. They are an excellent alternative to dentures, are more comfortable and much more appealing.
Implants
Currently the gold standard worldwide, this is an option that is effective in that adjacent tooth structure is not harmed. A biocompatible “screw” is placed into your bone, much like the root of your natural tooth, and a crown (artificial tooth) is cemented on top of this.
Other Options
Other restorative options for teeth that are present and available are performed with the aim of strengthening the structural integrity of your teeth and improving upon your aesthetics. They include crowns (tooth coloured and gold – although tooth coloured is the preferred route), veneers, inlays and onlays and are indicated for multiple reasons ranging from failing and fractured fillings and teeth to smile makeovers and digital smile designs.
